Tanzania was born from the merger of Tanganyika and Zanzibar upon its independence. Bordered by the Indian Ocean, crossed by the Great Rift Valley, this country is home to many animals which attracts many tourists fond of safaris.

The Ramnami religious movement began more than a century ago in India. It began as an act of protest and resistance against the existence of castes and restrictions imposed on the untouchables. The Ramnami cover their bodies with the name RAM. This name is omnipresent in all aspects of a Ramnami's life, present on their clothing, on their stole (Odhani), on their headdress (Mukut). Our photographer met in April 2023 various personalities of the Ramnami community, the president of the community "Set Bai", the secretary "Gularam Ramnami", and other individuals tattooed to varying degrees, which led to the creation of a cultural hierarchy in the community. in fact, some have their entire body covered with tattoos and are called “Sharvang Shareer”.
The tattoos are made with ink obtained from the soot resulting from oil burning. A person from the community is designated to carry out the body tattoos. The Ramnamis use bronze anklet bells (Ghunghuru or Ghungroos). This accessory is worn either on the shoulder or held in the hand to punctuate the “Ram Ram” litanies.
With new generations, the tradition of tattoos is fading and the number of tattooed Ramnami is decreasing very quickly. Indeed with education, many pursue higher education, and to avoid certain discrimination during their studies or job searches, they no longer get tattoos or if they do it is on hidden areas of their body.

The capital of Sicily surprises the tourist with its Arab-Norman mix of architecture and its markets with exotic decor. Several gardens, with the presence of impressive ficus trees, take visitors beyond the Italian borders. At the end of summer, most of these birds will migrate to more clement destinations and give way to Reindeer and Mountain Hares.

Of the original laurisilva, only a part remains which covers 20% of the island and which is classified as a World Natural Heritage Site by Unesco. This forest is home to species such as til (Ocotea foetens) or laurel (Laurus novocanariensis) often immersed in fog and loved by the Madeira Kinglet.

Created in 1898, the Kruger National Reserve in South Africa is renowned for its "Big Five", the lion, elephant, leopard, rhinoceros and buffalo.
